The Slate Mountain Wind Project is located on private timberland in northeastern California, 30 miles north of Susanville in Lassen County.
Slate Mountain owners have maintained met towers in the vicinity since September 2011 and have measured commercially viable wind. As of February 2020, the analysis of met tower and mesoscale wind modeling data suggest that there are over 100 potential turbine sites in the project area.
All meteorological data has been collected and analyzed by Bureau Veritas of Houston, TX.
